Class 50 Vandalised During Charter Train

Class 50 Vandalised During Charter Train Earlier Today, 50050 & 40013 (D213) were operating a charter train in Devon & Bristol, operated by Locomotive Services, and during the tour two individuals (who will remain unnamed) threw a brick at the 50050 while at speed, the damage while somewhat hard to see in the attached image can be made out to a few minor dents and paint scratches, narrowly missing the driver & secondman's window. It is currently believed that the British Transport Police and LSL are working to identify the culprits and take action.

Locomotion Musuem Shildon Fail The Guinness World Record Attempt Locomotion have broke the unfortunate news they have failed to beat the  Guinness World Record for the most people performing the "Locomotion" dance, the previous record attempt was previously set at 1,752 people at Margam Country Park in Wales, unfortunately whilst Locomotion Shildon attempted to beat the record, they failed due to falling short of record attempters despite having over 1,000 attendees.

Europheonix Class 37 37611 Livery Revealed A photo was posted by a u/CVN59 on reddit showing 37611 in Europhoenix grey, similar to 37423 which was revealed just a few months ago. As you can see, the 37 does not have its ' Pegasus ' nameplates, whether these will be put back on is unknown.

The End For Chiltern Railways Mk3 DVT Sets Today, Branch Line Society held a farewell tour to the Chiltern Railways ' Silver Sets ' hauled with A DVT, Mk3s & a DRS Class 68, the coming week will be the final week of the sets service, as the lease from Porterbrook Leasing Co. will expire, marking the end of a 12 year era.

Gas Leak At Doncaster Railway Station Earlier this afternoon, Doncaster Station was evacuated due to a gas leak near the train line, all services in and out of the station have been delayed and cancelled, LNER have also added: “If you are already on board an LNER service affected by this disruption, your train manager will keep you updated with information about the incident and the impact on your journey." "Our on-board team are working hard to keep you comfortable whilst we get you moving again. If you need any urgent help – onward travel connections / flights, medical needs etc., please speak to a member of the on-train team." “If you are currently waiting at a station, please listen out for station announcements or speak to a member of station staff. If you are unable to complete your journey today and require hotel accommodation, please speak to a member of station staff.” This post will be updated when we have more information.

London Waterloo Closed Due To Emergency Incident

London Waterloo Closed Due To Emergency Incident Word has just been recieved that Waterloo (WAT) station was tempoarily closed due to an incident at Clapham Junction which has forced all lines to temporarily close, but are now reopened. All services have seen a delay between 30-90 minutes. According to Network Rail, disruption will likely last until the end of the working day. To affected passengers reading this, Network Rail has also informed us that if you have not been able to use your ticket due to the disruption this evening, you can alternatively use them tommorow at no extra cost. We will provide you all with more information as soon as we have it.

GB Railfreight To Sell Over 20 Locomotives Carl Kent, the sales director of GB Railfreight  has just announced that GB Railfreight  will be selling over 20 Locomotives next month in an auction by GB Railfreight , the locomotives confirmed for bidding will be: Class 08 - 08527 Class 09 - 09002, 09009 Class 47/7 - 47727, 47739, 47749 Class 60 - 60002, 60004, 60014, 60018, 60021, 60026, 60047, 60056, 60076, 60085, 60087, 60095, 60096. As you may previously know, the Class 60 fleet was withdrawn on December 31st 2025, more info on that can be found here .

Exclusive Update On LNER N2 Overhau l Today we've recieved a special update on LNER N2 Class No. 1744, which is currently based at the Mid Norfolk Railway. In the words of The Gresley Society , the locomotive's owners, the Locomotive is currently being prepared for repaint with the side tanks recently being added on, the locomotive will soon have its superheater header and various other parts including the chimney and splashes, the locomotive should return to service in Q3 2026.

Incident & Disruptions On The Network Today During the early hours of this morning a Class 377 (believed to be 377464) has had a derailment at the depot, Southern have gone on to put a do not travel alert out due to delays, service alterations and cancellations for all services via Selhurst until later into the working day, so please make plans for alternate travel on the Southern network. A signalling fault has occurred at near Norwood Junction, and as a result some lines have been closed and are affecting the following: • Thameslink Services To/From Brighton • Thameslink Services To/From Three Bridges • Southern Services To/From London Bridge • ALL Overground Services To/From  West Croydon Please continue to check RailPress   throughout today for further updates to the network.

London NorthWestern Railway & West Midlands Railway Has Been Nationalised! Today, LNWR & WMR  have officially fell under the " Great British Railways " modernisation scheme, 1 Unit From Each Company was put in GBR branding. LNWR: 730210 WMR:  730033 What Is Great British Railways?  Great British Railways (or GBR in short) is a new goverment plan with the intent to decrease rail fares and to restructure the railway system under a single publicly owned organisation. Established through the Railways Bill introduced in November 2025, GBR will take over responsibility for most passenger train services and railway infrastructure, merging multiple operators into one entity.
