HS2 Trains Considered To Run At Lower Speed To Cut Costs
It was announced that the Class 895 may run at a lower speed as the current price of the line is estimated at over £100 billion GBP. However there's no official confirmation.

GWR Swindon Works Hooter Blows For The First Time Since 1986
On March 26th 2026 the Swindon Works hooter (formerly used to announce the start and end of all working days) blew once again to mark the 40th anniversary of Swindon Works closing.

5 New Railway Stations Open In One Month
March saw the opening of 5 new Railway stations, 3 of them being in Birmingham. The stations were:
Moseley Village, Birmingham
Kings Heath, Birmingham
Pineapple Road, Birmingham
Willenhall, West Midlands
Darlaston, West Midlands
LNWR Class 350, TheFlyingTornado.

Oulton Broad North Station Catches Fire
An Indian restaurant inside Oulton Broad North caught fire overnight on the night of April 9th, the fire was severe and trains between Lowestoft, Norwich & Ipswich were cancelled, it is still unknown when the station will reopen.

Watercress Line - The Flying Scotsman
The Watercress Line saw the Flying Scotsman visit for the second time in the railways history, the iconic Locomotive pulled in thousands of guests when it was active between March 10th - March 21st, however later this year it will return to the south, at the Swanage Railway.
Bluebell Railway - Spring Steam Gala
The event took place March 20th - 22nd, and was highly successful, with the guests being:

SR W8 “Freshwater”
GWR 2999 “Lady of Legend”
Swanage Railway - Spring Steam Gala
The railway saw 3 guests, which is more than usual for Swanage Steam galas, the event was a success with a GWR 4-6-0 visiting for the second year in a row.
