GBRf Class 60s Withdrawn As of today - GB Railfreight has withdrawn their Class 60 fleet as shown on TOPS ( Total Operations Processing System ), it is unknown if these 60s will go to DC Rail  or if they'll be stored/scrapped.

The Western Poplar Line Has Been Activated For HS2 Diversions At 4am this morning, the Western Poplar Lines were turned on for 25,000 volts of overhead AC Power, these will be utilised by the new Class 895  trains (seen in image 1/2 below) when HS2  begins service sometime in the 2030s, the purpose of this is for potential HS2 diversions out of Old Oak Common Station . Class 465s To Have Bogie Refurbishments At Alstom's Crewe Depot Alstom & Eversholt Rail Have signed a £20 Million Great British Pounds contract for the Southeastern Class 465 EMU Sets, all 97 units will visit the Alstom Crewe location (located north west of the railway station) over the next few years, it's also said they will receive a new paint job (likely SE Blue ) and other parts will be transferred.

LSL Class 90 90002 New Livery Revealed We've just had our first look at 90002   'Wolf Of Baden och' , and just like its class mate 90026  it has gone in LNWR Lined Black , and will likely head back to Crewe  in the coming weeks with 20096 ,  20107 , & 57302 .

First Preserved Class 150 To Head To Heritage Railway Tommorow The first Preserved Class 150 DMU ( 150231 ) will head to the Watercress Line  tommorow running 5Q15 08:58 Derby Litchurch Lane - Alton   after attending the Alstom ' Greatest Gathering ' event earlier this year. 

Farewell Class 455s - The End Of An  Era The time has come - The Class 455 s have officially finished their farewell services, on December 23rd they will run their final services, which will indefinitely mark the end of over 40 Years of servicing the London & Southern Regions, The official farewell tour, held by  Branch Line Society  & South Western Railway , has just ended, the tour had 2 sets and the allox for both are below. The End Is Here For Pathfinder Tours. Pathfinder Tours Have Officially Just Ended Their Final Railtour With  WCR Class 57/0 57008 & WCR Class 57/3 57314 'Conwy Castle' , Both Locomotives Ran The Tour From Salisbury To Gloucester,   D1015 'Western Champion' (rebranded as D1001 'Western Pathfinder' one on side), Was Put On At Gloucester, And Took The Train To Lostock Hall , Just Outside Of Preston , And Back Again, Pathfinder Tours Has Now Ceased Operations Permanently.

Tyne & Wear Metro Reach A Huge Milestone In Their Fleet It's official - all 46 of the T&W Metro's Class 555 fleet has completed construction. The Class 555 began construction in 2021 and cost £362 Million Great British Pounds to create, the fleet began service at the end of 2024 to replace the ageing Metrocar  fleet.

Landslip Forces Cancellations At The Watercress Line Earlier this evening, The Watercress Line have announced this evenings (and possibly future) Steam Illuminations  operations will not take place due to a landslip somewhere on the line, not much further is known but you can book tickets to ride the Illuminations here . UPDATE - 19/12/2025 13:12 The landslip has been cleared and services will resume as normal.

Disruption On The South Western Main Line This Evening To those travelling on The South Western Main Line to night do be advised there is a flood at Sway  (located approximately 15 miles east of Bournemouth Station ) and as a result is seeing delays between 15-45 minutes in both directions, delays will likely continue until the end of the day, I will update this post with more updates as we progress.
